Commuters' agony knows no bound

The haphazard parking of trucks and lorries coupled with their stay for indefinite period at both sides of the Port Connecting Road at Halishahar causes huge traffic congestion inflicting immense sufferings to the commuters.
The sporadic stay of several scores of truck and lorries at both sides at Halishahar K and B blocks stretching from Tasphia Community Centre to PC Pool has turned into almost a temporary garage on the main road according to their whim. But thanks to god there is no authority to look into what the victims and locals termed a complete disarray and anarchy on such an important and one of the busiest road.
These heavy vehicles which stay for days even in two to three lines stall movements of other transports leading to a complete gridlock from Noyabazar intersection to Barapool .
Under construction of the City Corporation's culvert and huge inundation for heavy pour have also multiplied sufferings of the city residents.
The gridlock from Tasphia to WAPDA gate is the worst situation that ever encountered by the commuters.
The traffic department is found almost inactive to resolve such acute gridlock in the highway for unknown reasons.
Yasmin Akhter, a student commuter lamented that she often remains stranded for one and a half hours in the congestion which made her delay toward destination
The victims sought immediate intervention of the proper authority for solution to the problem.
